Tom Lawrence
Thomas H. Lawrence is the founder and CEO of Benefit Recovery Group, as well as a practicing attorney. Lawrence devotes his legal practice to representing employers and plan fiduciaries in employment and employee benefits matters throughout the United States. Lawrence has tried employment and benefits cases in federal district courts throughout the country. He has also handled appeals in employee benefits matters before most of the nation’s federal courts of appeals. Lawrence is rated “AV” by Martindale Hubbell, and serves as a member of the American Bar Association as well as the State Bar of Texas.
A frequent author and speaker on employee benefits topics, Lawrence is the lead author of ERISA Subrogation: Enforcing Recoupment Provisions in ERISA-Covered Health and Disability Plans, which was published by the American Bar Association. Lawrence is also the nation’s leader in subrogation litigation, having handled 61 cases – more than any other attorney – including two of four cases heard by the Supreme Court.
Lawrence practices in a robust list of areas: health care subrogation, employee benefits litigation, mass tort subrogation litigation, ERISA litigation, employment litigation, arbitration, as well as appeals experience in all areas of the law. Lawrence received degrees from Baylor University and the South Texas College of Law.

For the past 20 years, Edwin L. Rawson has focused his practice on representing employers and plan fiduciaries in employment and employee benefits matters throughout the United States. He has also served as General Counsel of Benefit Recovery Group, LLC for the past 12 years. Before focusing on employment and benefits law, Win practiced for several years in the area of mergers and acquisition law. Win holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis and a BBA and MBA from the University of Mississippi.
